Why Soilless Growing Is Part of the Solution
Across the globe, the agricultural sector is facing mounting challenges. In many regions, the health of our soils is in decline, particularly in Latin America and the Caribbean. When soil becomes depleted or eroded, growers are left with lower yields, higher costs, and increased pressure to find alternative methods.
That’s where soilless cultivation—and products like our Jiffy Growbags and Growblocks—can make a difference. These systems allow growers to bypass degraded soils entirely, offering consistent quality, increased control, and efficient use of water and nutrients.
Our Sustainability Commitment

We’ve made a public commitment to reduce our greenhouse gas emissions by 25% by 2025. At several of our production sites, we’ve already begun transitioning to renewable energy, such as installing solar panels, optimizing logistics, and making the switch to electric vehicles for transportation wherever possible.
We’re also rethinking materials. Our Growbags now use film made from 40% recycled plastic, helping us significantly reduce our dependence on virgin fossil-based plastics. And because many of our products—including our substrates—are made from renewable resources like RHP-certified coconut coir, we’re helping move the entire industry toward more circular, responsible practices.

🌱 Jiffy Growbags
Available in two configurations—Finesse and Essence—our Growbags are made from 100% peat-free coco substrate sourced from our own facilities in Sri Lanka.
- Finesse Growbags are ready to use, with pre-buffered coir and low sodium and chloride levels—ideal for high-value fruit and vegetable crops like sweet peppers, tomatoes, and strawberries.
- Essence Growbags are a more economical option, designed for growers who prefer to handle pre-treatment on site. These are commonly used in crops such as tomatoes and hemp.
Both types promote excellent drainage and air content, supporting healthy root development and reducing disease pressure—without relying on depleted soils.
🌱 Jiffy Growblocks
Growblocks are a go-to solution for hydroponic and greenhouse growers. They’re easy to handle, promote air-pruning of roots, and come wrapped in biodegradable PLA netting for added sustainability. From leafy greens to young tomato and cucumber plants, these blocks support strong starts and healthy yields.
