This summer, we’re unveiling some exciting innovations designed to boost sustainability, reduce complexity, and open new possibilities for growers:
- Bagasse – A peat-free raw material made from sugarcane fiber, Bagasse is renewable, lightweight, and available year-round. It offers strong water-holding capacity without the need for washing or buffering, making it an efficient alternative for blending into your substrate mixes—ideal for reducing environmental impact while maintaining high performance.
- Wood Fiber Pellet – Made from 80% sphagnum peat and 20% wood fiber, this Jiffy 7 Pellet provides increased porosity, optimized dry-down, and greater shelf life. Flexible in sizing and format, it’s an excellent fit for ornamentals, vegetables, and hydroponic production systems.
- Peat/Coir blended Pellet: Made from 60% sphagnum peat and 40% washed and buffered coir, this Jiffy 7 Pellet combines the powerful characteristics of two fibers: fast root development and nutrient buffering, with an excellent balance between porosity and moistness to support optimal resaturation and dry-down. Similarly to the new Wood Fiber Pellets, the Peat/Coir Pellets are flexible in sizing and format, it’s an excellent fit for ornamentals, vegetables, and hydroponic production systems.
- Jiffy Pot 119 and 122 – Manufactured in Canada, the Jiffy Pot 119 and 122 have both been modified to seamlessly integrate with automation. A smoother finish, well-designed bottom drainage slits, and a double rim at the top provide a durable, high-volume solution ideal for Controlled Environment Agriculture (CEA) and other high-efficiency growing systems.
