Im Fr\u00fchsommer besuchen wir Freek bei Dr. Green. Es handelt sich um eines der zahlreichen Gew\u00e4chsh\u00e4user in den Niederlanden und tausende identische Alo\u00eb Vera-Pflanzen sind ein besonderer Anblick. Als es sich innen gerade erw\u00e4rmt, nimmt Freek uns mit auf eine Tour durch das, was er als \u201eDr. Greenhouse\u201c bezeichnet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201aGesunde\u2018 Pflanzen<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Freek z\u00fcchtet seine Pflanzen mit Sorgfalt. Er sagt: \u201eDr. Green z\u00fcchtet nicht nur Topfpflanzen. Wir z\u00fcchten sie f\u00fcr einen besonderen Markt, f\u00fcr die Kosmetikindustrie.\u201c Das Gel in der Pflanze hat au\u00dfergew\u00f6hnliche hautpflegende Eigenschaften und kann direkt aus der Pflanze aufgetragen werden. Eine st\u00e4rkere Pflanze bedeutet mehr und frischeres Gel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Warum Jiffy Preforma? <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Alo\u00ebn sind widerstandsf\u00e4hige Pflanzen mit einer starken Wurzelentwicklung, so Freek. Aber er f\u00fcgt hinzu: \u201eDer gr\u00f6\u00dfte Vorteil liegt f\u00fcr mich in der F\u00e4higkeit dieses Plugs, Wasser aufzunehmen. Nach l\u00e4ngerer Trockenheit nimmt er sehr schnell Wasser auf und h\u00e4lt es gut. Das macht es einfach, mit meiner Bew\u00e4sserungsstrategie zu spielen.\u201c Au\u00dferdem findet er es leicht, mit Plugs zu arbeiten, die L\u00f6cher in der Mitte haben. \u201eSo k\u00f6nnen die Anbauer viel einfacher sicherstellen, dass die Keimlinge genau in der Mitte landen. Wenn man den Keimling hineinsteckt, sitzt er sofort fest im Plug. Er ist wie ein kleiner Schwamm.\u201c<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Praktische Vorteile der Arbeit mit Plugs<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

\u201eJa, bessere Wurzel- und Feuchtigkeitskontrolle sind ein wichtiger Grund f\u00fcr die Verwendung dieser Plugs. Aber im Alltag ist auch die Handhabung ein wichtiger Faktor. Wir k\u00f6nnen Preforma wochenlang lagern, ohne dass sie v\u00f6llig austrocknen. Immer, wenn wir neue Setzlinge bekommen, nehmen wir eine Palette und breiten die Trays aus.
