From open field to growing media
Raspberries and Blackberries were once mainly cultivated as a field crop. But farmers faced problems including diseases, poor soil quality, and high labor costs. High-quality growing media can help solve these issues. That’s why more and more producers of blackberries and raspberries now favor growing solutions like containers filled with loose substrate.
Two-cycle cultivation
The woody crop is cultivated in two cycles: the first stage is long cane production; the second stage is fruit production. For this high-value crop, it is common to grow the long canes elsewhere than the fruit. Mother stock production takes place in the field, on growing media (bedding), or on coir growbags.
